What is a Mission Statement?
A mission statement is a publicly available declaration of a business’s core purpose that remains unchanged by time. A well-written and clear mission statement serves as a business compass by which those involved in the company can navigate and separate what is important and what is not.
A mission statement can also be known as a ‘company mission’ and identifies the intended direction of the business. A mission and vision statement are two different things.
Mission statement example:
“Patagonia: Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis.”
